This form of disease varies, ranging from mild to reddish skin to severe forms accompanied by swelling and purulence.
Symptoms of eczema will appear at the age of children, when they are over two years old.Even so, actually this disease can attack all ages, from babies to the elderly.
Most children will recover before the age of five, but a small proportion continue to experience eczema to adulthood. In some cases, as we get older, eczema will disappear.But some will suffer from eczema for the rest of their lives. Therefore, the right treatment can control eczema so it doesn't recur.

Symptoms of Eczema

The most important symptom for eczema sufferers is unbearable itching in the affected part. These symptoms are accompanied by scaly, inflamed and relapsing skin which will be felt in the itchy part. Sometimes before the signs on the skin, itching has appeared.
Reddish skin generally appears on the hands, face, knees, legs and other body parts. In addition, the skin affected by the disease will thicken, become very dry or become scab.
In white skin lovers, the skin affected by eczema will have a pink color and eventually become brown. Whereas in darker skin, the symptoms will affect the skin pigment so that it can become brighter or darker.
Eczema itself is an episodic disease so that sometimes the skin will improve, then worsen again and so on.

Causes of Eczema

Some people think that eczema is an infectious disease. This is seen from the condition of patients who generally do not pay attention to cleanliness, so it was concluded that this exim disease is contagious.
In fact, this eczema disease can also be influenced by genetic factors. But actually what causes this eczema disease is not known for sure. According to some experts, eczema is associated with excessive immune activity.
This causes the body to overreact to irritants or bacteria which are actually not harmful to the skin. Therefore, this disease is commonly found in families who have a history of asthma.
Some of the predicted causes are dry skin, irritation of soap and detergents, or other chemicals. In addition, stressful conditions, allergies and pathogenic infections can also cause this disease.

Treatment of Eczema

After knowing the causes and symptoms of eczema as described earlier, it is time to discuss the treatment of eczema.
Treatment of eczema is aimed at relieving itching so that the infection can be avoided. The use of moisturizing creams and lotions is highly recommended when the skin of eczema sufferers feels dry and itchy. This treatment aims to make the skin more moist.
Patients can use hydrocortisone ointments or creams containing corticosteroids to reduce the inflammatory process which is often referred to as inflammation.
In cases of eczema that are already severe, treatment must be carried out directly with the doctor's instructions. The doctor will give corticosteroid tablets to reduce inflammation.
Whereas if there are areas of eczema that have been infected, antibiotics will be given to overcome the infection. Antibiotics can kill infection-causing bacteria.
Other types of drugs usually given by doctors are antihistamines. This drug is useful for reducing severe itching .
